Brand, copy and site · Tucson, AZ

A page about the worst day, written so it does not add weight

Equine end of life care: on-site pickup, transport, burial, cremation, keepsakes. The person reading is grieving. Almost every normal website reflex is wrong here.

What I built

Written, designed, and coded by hand

  • Copy that leads with the one promise that matters: you never have to move your horse
  • One call to action, said once, calmly. No banners, no countdowns, no pressure
  • Slow fades only. No bounce, no counters, nothing playful anywhere on the page
  • An FAQ that answers what people are too upset to ask out loud

The brand kit

Locked before a line of code

The palette and the type pair, decided first and never negotiated during the build. Every color below is pulled straight from the site itself.

Palette

Sand #F7EFE1
Ink #2B1B0E
Clay #CBB89F
Terracotta #A8481A
Amber #E7A54A

Type

  • Fraunces Display · 500
  • Karla Body · 400 / 600

Motion

The gentle version of everything. One second fades, small rises, no parallax on faces. Reduced motion fully respected. A site can be beautiful and still know when to be quiet.

On a phone

Built at 390 pixels first

Every section is drawn on the phone before it is drawn on the desktop, then opened up. Most of your customers will only ever see this version, so it does not get the leftovers.
